The Soccer Goal

I have been watching the FIFA World Cup and I must admit I don't know much about soccer. What I do know is that when they score a goal they celebrate for about 5 minutes and the crowd goes incredibly wild. I finally watched a match and it was amazing to see the resilience and stamina these soccer players have. They are running, falling, using every single part on their body(except their hands) to move the ball across this huge field. So about 50 minutes in the game the score is still 0-0 and I realize how difficult it is for them to score a goal. Then I realize why the celebrate so long. The goal is so hard to achieve. Then I flip to the NBA playoffs(Sad to say the Lakers won) and baskets are being made every few seconds. 10 minutes in the game the score is already like 30-28 and I am thinking, wow compared to soccer, basketball goals are much easier. I ask you this, How many times have you only set basketball goals for yourself? Sure it took a some effort, but not much of a challenge. Sometimes in life the easy quick road is not the best way to score a happy and successful life. Stretch yourself to do things that you thought you could never do. It is not about the destination, its about the journey. I challenge you this week to forfeit going for the easy basket, instead strive to achieve the soccer goal.
